The 39-year-old spent his final three seasons at West Brom but has now called time on his distinguished career.

Barry joined City from Aston Villa in the summer of 2009 and is widely considered to have been a key architect of the Club’s initial post-takeover success.

He played 175 times for City, scoring eight goals, helping us win the 2011 FA Cup and 2012 Premier League.

He was capped 53 times by England and holds the record for most appearances in the Premier League, playing in the competition a remarkable 653 times.

Loved by fans, teammates and staff alike, Barry, a true professional, left an indelible mark at City during his four-year stay.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate him on a fine career and wish him well in retirement.
