The agent of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has insisted the player is focused on succeeding at the club.

That is at odds with the opinion of the Welshman’s coach Zinedine Zidane.

Bale was out of sorts in his side’s defeat to Rayo Vallecano, with the Frenchman accusing him of a lack of focus afterwards.

It is the latest incident which suggests Bale’s future lies away from Madrid, although his agent insisted that is not the case.

“Gareth is 100% committed to Real Madrid,” agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Wales Sport.

“Nothing has changed,” he added when asked if it was still Bale’s intention to see out his contract with Los Blancos.

Bale was the only player who did not travel with the team on the bus after their defeat on Sunday night.

He took a private car to the airport to catch a flight, with Zidane granting his players two-and-a-half days off.
