Champions League final hero Gareth Bale would be open to a move to Bayern Munich.
The winger scored twice in Saturday’s Champions League final but expressed his frustration at being left out of the starting line up immediately after the game.
“I need to be playing week in, week out, and that’s not happened this season,”he told BT Sport.
“I had an injury five, six weeks into the season but I’ve been fit ever since.
According to the Telegraph, the German champions are alongside Manchester United as one of the clubs he would be interested in joining.
The news comes under two months after Bale admitted he was flattered to be linked with Bayern in an interview with SportBild.
“In football, you can never say never. To be linked with this club is an honour for anyone,” Bale said.
“Bayern have a fantastic team and have always been one of the most successful clubs in Europe.”
However, Bale’s contract at the Santiago Bernabéu runs for another four years and signing him would cost an enormous amount of money.
It seems unlikely that Bayern – who recently extended the contracts of 34-year-old Arjen Robben and 35-year-old Franck Ribéry – will take the bait on another wide player who has struggled with injuries. Bayern have ruled out making any big-money marquee signings this summer.
Bale will turn 29 in July and may also struggle to tempt Manchester United, who signed Alexis Sánchez in January, into bidding for him.
