Garcia Pimienta blasts back at Laporta over Barcelona sacking claims | OneFootball

Javi Garcia Pimienta has hit back at Barcelona president Joan Laporta over his sacking as B team coach.

Laporta said at the weekend's General Assembly that Pimienta was dismissed in the summer because “we didn't see Barca B integrated with the direction of the youth levels". However Pimienta wanted to hit back on a Twitch stream.

“These words show that they had no excuses, they just wanted to bring their own people in, that was the reason they gave me," he told Gerard Romero. “Telling me that I was not in line with the youth teams, it's the opposite.

"In 2018 when Barca B came up is when they returned to their origins. In the previous years they made good squads without players who could get to the first team. All the games I coached at Barca B, Juvenilsm Cadetes, we played 4-3-3, faithful to the style.

"I believed in people from here and the proof is in the players who have made their first-team debuts. They told me thanks for everything over these years but they wanted to put their own people in."
