A number of Fulham supporters have been piling praise on Tom Cairney following his impact off the bench as they secured a vital point in a 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth on Friday night.

Marco Silva’s side went into the game aiming to secure a potentially crucial win against Bournemouth in the race for automatic promotion. A win could have taken them four points clear of Scott Parker’s side and given them a further cushion on third-placed QPR.

However, despite being the dominant force in the game for most of the contest and creating numerous chances that were denied by strong defending and goalkeeping by the Cherries, it looked like they might fall to a defeat after they went 1-0 down in the second half.

Fulham were still trailing 20 minutes remaining when Silva turned to his bench and introduced Cairney into proceedings. The midfielder managed to make a major difference on the game when he produced a perfect delivery for Tosin Adarabioyo to head home the equalising goal that had been coming with just six minutes to play.

Cairney was also able to make three key passes and won all of the duels that he contested after coming onto the field as he helped Fulham turn their territorial dominance into a much-needed goal.

His performance was enough to help them pick up a point that sees them remain at the top of the Championship table.

Many Fulham fans were urging Silva to start playing Cairney front the start of matches now after he managed to help them secure a point from behind against Bournemouth.

Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
