Galliani unhappy with Monza-Milan officiating and suggests it would be different for a ‘big club’ | OneFootball

Adriano Galliani was not happy with the officiating that was on display during last night’s game between Monza and AC Milan at the U-Power Stadium.

Monza head coach Alessandro Nesta spoke of his frustrations after the game, believing that Dany Mota’s disallowed goal 10 minutes in was the wrong call. The referee chose to let play continue but then chalked the goal off for a foul in the build-up by Bondo on Theo Hernandez.

Bondo meanwhile was lucky to stay on the pitch as he pulled by Christian Pulisic while the winger went on a break, and the midfield really should have been shown a second yellow card.

After the game, Galliani spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the decisions that he believes went against his club, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“It’s the second regular goal disallowed in a few days. If they had disallowed two goals for a big club, who knows what would have happened, people would have talked about it for days. Instead it happened to Monza and everyone has forgotten about it,” he saud.

The reference to the second goal concerns the one disallowed in Bergamo just three days ago in the midweek round against Atalanta. With the score at 0-0, Vignato scored the opener goal, but Piccinini decided to disallow it for a previous push by D’Ambrosio on Ederson.

“I am proud of Monza’s game, which between Atalanta and Milan played two games on the same level as their opponents. It’s a shame that there were two refereeing errors,” Galliani added.
