AC Milan failed to collect any points at Anfield last night as Liverpool won the clash by three goals to two. The Rossoneri were in the lead at the break but failed to hold on in the final 45 minutes.

As many have pointed out already, it was a necessary experience for Stefano Pioli’s men, who still have a long way to go. Playing in the Champions League is very different and they will have to get used to the high tempo.

Tuttosport wrote this on their front page: “Milan pride. KO against Liverpool but with their heads held high”. Corriere Dello Sport had the following: “Champions immediately bitter for the Milanese”.
