AC Milan registered their seventh defeat of the season last night as Torino prevailed 3-1 at Stadio Olimpico. It was far from a good performance from the Rossoneri, who evidently have checked out already.

Second place has already been secured by Stefano Pioli’s men and there is nothing left to play for. As such, the manager gave several reserves the chance yesterday, while Torino headed into the clash with a Conference League spot in mind.

As expected, perhaps, Torino came away with all three points after highlighting Milan’s defensive struggles. Pioli admitted after the game that this defeat was ‘the symbol of our season’ and the newspapers had little praise for the team this morning.

The headlines

Gazzetta dello Sport

🏆 “A cup-worthy Torino. Milan overwhelmed, now Europe is close for il Toro.”

Tuttosport

🤝 “Enjoy, Torino! Europe is there, Milan overwhelmed (3-1) and Napoli leapfrogged.”

Corriere dello Sport

😕 “Torino overwhelm Milan (3-1), now they are ninth.”
