Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad resumed training on Tuesday as work began ahead of the weekend’s return to Premier League action.
It was victory for the club last time out as a 0-2 lead for Crystal Palace inside the opening 22 minutes was overturned by a Kevin De Bruyne-inspired performance to ultimately win the contest via a 5-2 scoreline.
That result and full-time scores elsewhere in the division meant that Manchester City secured themselves a top-five place heading into the next gameweek, with the stern challenge of David Moyes’ Everton up next.
It was the Merseyside club who did Manchester City a huge favour last weekend too, as they recorded a somewhat surprising 0-1 win on the road at UEFA Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
Manchester City still have some way to go before they can firmly relax and consider themselves assured of a place at the summit of European competition next season, but a win on the road this weekend would go a long way towards that goal.
As Pep Guardiola and his players resume training ahead of another significant contest in Premier League action this weekend, here are a selection of our favourite photos taken from Tuesday afternoon’s session at the City Football Academy!
