Manchester City have now been told how much they will have to offer in order to bring Galatasaray to the negotiating table for Brazilian midfielder, Gabriel Sara.

The profile of the 25-year-old emerged as a reported target for the four-in-a-row Premier League champions over the course of the last few days, with sources in Brazil confirming the extent of interest being contact made to gain information on the player.

Sara is the latest in a long list of midfielders to be linked with a Manchester City switch, with reports in South America suggesting that his versatility throughout midfield is attracting the attention of Etihad Stadium officials.

However, with the likes of Hugo Viana and Txiki Begiristain expected to invest heavily on a direct replacement for Kevin De Bruyne as a priority this summer, the remaining budget may have to be spent wisely on shrewd business during the window.

And now, it seems as though the Premier League giants have been informed of just how much it would take in order to tempt the Turkish side currently employing Gabriel Sara into conversations over a big-money sale.

That is according to the information of Turkish news outlet Fanatik, who claim that Galatasaray officials are standing firm amid City’s reported interest in Gabriel Sara insisting that they will not consider any offers below €40 million for the Brazilian.

Hierarchy within the Istanbul club are said to be ‘not surprised’ by interest in Sara from the Premier League giants, with a source commenting on the matter, “If he was selected for the Brazilian National Team, much more astronomical figures could be discussed.”

The source continued within the report, “Before coming to Galatasaray, Premier League teams were interested. (Manchester) City, on the other hand, may have acted according to his performance in Galatasaray.

“His performance here has attracted the attention of many teams. He was already a quality player, he put him even more than his value in Galatasaray.”

For now it remains to be seen just how highly Gabriel Sara ranks in Manchester City’s list of midfield transfer targets this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz known to be the number one priority when it comes to replacing Kevin De Bruyne.

There is also understood to be interest from the Etihad in Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, although it remains to be seen whether a deal is deemed feasible given the £100 million price tag stamped onto the Englishman by the City Ground club.
