Galatasaray are looking to shore up their transfer campaign by acquiring a new left-back, and Lazio’s Luca Pellegrini is reportedly on the shortlist.
While the transfer market is closed in most countries around the globe, Turkish clubs are still allowed to sign players until September 13th, giving them a major advantage over the rest of Europe, as illustrated by Victor Osimhen’s surprising loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray.
Hence, the Turkish giants are still looking to add more prominent names to their ranks.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Lions have inquired about Pellegrini’s availability. The 25-year-old has recently hurt his leg in a car crash, ruling him out of action.
The former Roma player has been plying his trade at Lazio since January 2023. He remains on loan from Juventus with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. Pellegrini has yet to cement himself as a regular starter since his arrival at Formello, but he remains part of Marco Baroni’s plans. He will likely feature as a backup for Nuno Tavares at left-back this term.
Therefore it remains to be seen if the Biancocelesti would be willing to deprive themselves of the Italian’s services when they can no longer sign a replacement. The only solution in this case would be to reinstate versatile fullback Elseid Hysaj, albeit it would be too late to register him on the Europa League group stage list at this point…
