Following the confirmed departure of veteran forward Dries Mertens (38), Galatasaray have moved quickly to identify a potential replacement. According to Foot Mercato, the Turkish champions have set their sights on Brazilian attacking midfielder Evander (26), currently plying his trade with FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer.

Evander has been one of the standout performers in the MLS this season, contributing 9 goals and 6 assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. A technically gifted creator with a keen eye for goal, the former Midtjylland man has seen his stock rise steadily since moving to the United States in 2023.

Under contract with Cincinnati until 2027, Evander is not expected to come cheap, but Galatasaray are reportedly long-time admirers and are now considering a summer move as they reshape their squad ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.GFFN | George Boxall
