For the most part, Arsenal haven’t had to deal with too much exit speculation surrounding their key players this summer. The Gunners haven’t received many bids for starters, but there have been repeated reports of interest in Gabriel Magalhaes.

The centre-back has been a key member of Arsenal’s side for a couple of years now, and that’s drawn the eyes of Serie A side Juventus.

CBS Sports and The Telegraph reported in July that Juventus wanted to sign the Arsenal centre-back, but added that Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar both share the view that Gabriel is a key player for Arsenal.

It appeared that Gabriel was also resisting the move, with suggestions he’s settled in London and at Arsenal. The player himself has now seemingly confirmed as much.

“It’s always nice to get that recognition but I’m really focused on Arsenal,” Gabriel said.

“I am very happy here. I’ve got a good relationship with my teammates and I am fully committed to the project.

“I am convinced that, with the project we have, we can achieve a lot.”

Gabriel made 39 appearances for Arsenal last season, only missing games when either he was injured or it was the early rounds of the cup competitions.

The initial signs are that it will be the same story this season, with no one really challenging to displace the Brazilian. That will suit him just fine, as he looks to play regularly ahead of the World Cup this winter.
