Another mainstay in the Lille OSC squad could be on his way out a little sooner than expected.
Gabriel Gudmundsson (26) has just completed his fourth season in Ligue 1 for Les Dogues, but he is anything but optimistic that he’ll be there when the next campaign begins.
Speaking in a press confrence transcribed by La Voix du Nord, the left-back said: “I’m very likely to leave. It will be a very interesting summer.”
He went on to say that there have also been talks about him signing an extension, although his perference is seemingly to leave.
The 26-year-old made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for them in 2024-25 and has one year left on his contract. Since the conclusion of this season, Lille have already announced the departures of Jonathan David (25), Rémy Cabella (35), Bafodé Diakité (24) and Alexsandro (25).
Meanwhile, Olympique de Marseille is set to formalise a deal with Angel Gomes (24), another LOSC departee.
Gudmundsson scored two goals for Lille this past season, his highest output since joining them on a five-year contract..
