Gabby Agbonlahor refuses to play for another English side | OneFootball

Gabby Agbonlahor, who is currently a free agent, says his love for Villa will prevent him from moving elsewhere in his home country.

The former England international left Villa Park after 17 years of service to the club.

Despite claims that he received offers from other Championship sides, Agbonlahor is currently without a contract, making his career in football uncertain.

“I think it’s been a hard one for me,” he said, when asked about moving elsewhere in England, “Being at Villa for so long and to then go to a club where I’d have to go and play against Villa.

“That’s put me off a lot. I’ve had a couple of offers from the Championship but after being at Aston Villa for so long it’s not really something I’d want to do, play against them.

“I wouldn’t rule out playing abroad but then again I want what’s best for my family. I’ve got young kids and a lot of family in the area. It’s hard for myself having been around my family for the last 31, 32 years to go abroad on my own because I wouldn’t move the kids.

“You can’t rule it out in the future but I think England is definitely off the market. If I play on it will be abroad.”
