The future of Eric Garcia will be decided ‘in some days‘, according to the latest reports, however he is 100% leaving Manchester City to rejoin Barcelona.
The former La Masia prospect has been firmly set on a return to the Camp Nou since rejected several offers to renew his contract with Manchester City last summer. Despite the two clubs negotiating to facilitate a move for the Spaniard during the summer window, no agreement was found on a transfer fee.
However, the player remains set to on rejoining his former club, and according to Fabrizio Romano on the latest edition of his Here We Go Podcast, we will understand ‘in some days‘ whether Garcia will join Barcelona this month for a fee or in the summer as a free agent.
Romano clarifies that there is already an agreement between the player, his entourage and Barcelona, however the timing of the transfer will be decided upon the election of a new club president at the Camp Nou – which is set to be decided in the coming days and weeks.
City will not require a replacement for Eric Garcia this month, following the strong defensive position they have found themselves in. Pep Guardiola’s side have a formidable partnership in John Stones and Ruben Dias, while the likes of Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, and now Luke Mbete, will offer ample back-up.
