Bayern Munich are still monitoring the situation surrounding Christopher Nkunku, but nothing is advanced according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Nkunku is currently part of the Club World Cup squad preparing for Sunday’s final against Paris Saint Germain in New York.
The Frenchman has featured more regularly than many would have expected at the tournament, and has appeared in five of Chelsea’s six games so far, with three of those starts.
Chelsea have made three attacking signings this summer in Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro, which has pushed Nkunku even further down the pecking order.
Nkunku has struggled with injury since joining Chelsea for £52m from RB Leipzig in 2023, and although he’s shown some moments of quality it’s fair to say he’s not lived up to expectations.

The France international attracted interest from both Bayern and Manchester United in January, and it’s believed Nkunku has already decided to leave this summer.
It’s been suggested United have been quoted £35m to sign Nkunku, and Plettenberg has now provided an update on Bayern’s interest.
He took to X.com and said:
“FC Bayern are still monitoring Christopher #Nkunku‘s situation and waiting for market opportunities.

“Nothing advanced. No offers. Nothing has changed. Further efforts depend on Bayern’s incoming and outgoing decisions in the transfer market.”
Nkunku could only manage three goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season, although he fared better in the Conference League with five goals in nine appearances.
Nkunku is unlikely to be the only attacker to leave Chelsea, with Joao Felix also set to depart, despite only joining last summer.
Chelsea paid Atletico Madrid £45m for the the Portugal international, but after limited game time he joined AC Milan on loan for the second half of the season.
Milan opted against signing him permanently, and Felix is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, but has expressed his desire to return to Benfica, and the clubs are reportedly in negotiations.
