Further details emerge over latest Millwall injury ahead of Coventry City clash | OneFootball

Millwall defender Daniel Ballard has no lasting damage to his eye after visiting a specialist after Wednesday’s game against Swansea City, as per a recent post on Twitter by South London Press Sports Editor Richard Cawley.

The young Arsenal loanee sustained the injury to his eye during the midweek draw at the Swansea.com Stadium and there was initially fears that he could have taken on some long lasting damage.

However after visiting a specialist about the injury, it has now been revealed that it is not as bad as first feared.

Despite this, the 21-year-old remains a doubt for his side’s game against Coventry City this weekend as the injuries continue to mount for Gary Rowett’s side.

Ballard has proved to have been a useful addition for the Lions so far this season and has played a part in eight games across all competitions as he continues to settle into life in the Sky Bet Championship.

Now the centre back will be focused on getting himself back available after his first minor setback in a Millwall shirt.

The Verdict

Ballard has been very solid for Millwall since joining the club this summer and looks like he has been playing in the Championship for years.

His lack of availability for the Coventry game will be troubling but it isn’t necessarily something that Rowett and his staff can’t get around.

The squad are just lacking the ability to see out games at present and that is one of a few reasons as to why they haven’t picked up more wins in the league.

If they can find some consistency over the coming weeks, the worry over the mounting injury list will be put to the back of their minds.
