Not even one month after the conclusion of the 2024/25 edition of the DFB Pokal, which saw VfB Stuttgart crowned champions in Berlin against Arminia Bielefeld, the road for Berlin 2026 begins today with the first round draw.

The games will be played between the 15th and 18th of August with Stuttgart and Bayern Munich’s games to still be decided as they will play in the Super Cup on the same weekend.

Defending champions Stuttgart will open their defence against Eintracht Braunschweig. While losing finalists Arminia Bielefeld will play Werder Bremen once again, who they beat on their route to the final.

Elsewhere, the standout game will be between Rot-Weiß Essen and Borussia Dortmund. Essen used to be a big player in the Ruhr region, however, have struggled in recent times and find themselves in the 3.Liga.

While Bayern Munich will travel to Wehen Wiesbaden as they look to win their first DFB-Pokal in what will be six years by the time the final comes around.
