The summer exodus at Manchester City is set to continue with highly-rated full-back Lucy Bronze being the latest player to opt to leave the club at the end of her contract.

It has been a difficult summer so far for The Cityzens with the likes of Georgia Stanway and Caroline Weir being some other notable departures.

Manchester City provided a further squad update on their official club website this morning which confirmed that full-back Bronze is also leaving The Academy Stadium. The England international has spent the past two seasons with The Cityzens after returning to the club for a second spell. Bronze previously featured for Manchester City between 2014 and 2017 before joining European champions Lyon.

In her combined Manchester City career, Bronze has made 111 appearances in all competitions and has scored 14 goals. The player has won five trophies in her time with The Cityzens including the domestic treble in 2016/2017.

Bronze’s Manchester City exit comes as no real surprise to the club’s fans. Speculation has been increasing over her immediate future for a number of weeks. At this stage, it is unknown where the next step of the player’s glittering career will be, although a move outside of the English game seems like the most likely option.
