Fulham have turned down a €40 million offer from Atalanta for Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The Premier League side are holding out for €50 million to part ways with Muniz, who is keen on a move away and has already informed his current employers.
Atalanta are in the market for a new centre forward after selling last season’s Serie A top scorer Mateo Retegui to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah.
They are also sweating on the future of Ademola Lookman, who is currently wanted by Inter Milan.
Inter have already had two bids rejected from Atalanta as La Dea remain firm on their €50 million valuation of the Nigerian international.
Atalanta view Muniz as a key target to reinforce their attacking department, and the allure of playing Champions League football plus the opportunity to be a guaranteed starter makes the prospect of a switch to Bergamo attractive.
He spent the 2024/25 season playing second fiddle to Raul Jimenez, starting just eight matches.
However, Muniz managed to score eight times at an impressive rate of one every 121 minutes, a scoring frequency only bettered by Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak among all active Premier League attackers.
Muniz’s combination of physicality, pace, and decent finishing ability has made him a fan favourite and attracted suitors across Europe.
Alongside Atalanta, Leeds United have also shown interest in signing Muniz this summer, but Fulham’s high valuation and Muniz’s preference make a potential transfer complicated.
Atalanta have already made six new signings this summer as they seek to build upon last season’s third-place finish.
Ivan Juric’s side will wrap up preseason with a clash against Juventus on Saturday.
