Fulham have officially been relegated from the Premier League with a defeat to Burnley on Monday night.
Scorers: Westwood 35′, Wood 44′
The Clarets took the lead 10 minutes before half-time, when Matěj Vydra beat Antonee Robinson with some neat work on the byline before squaring for Ashley Westwood to tap in.
Just before half-time it was 2-0, with Chris Wood finishing superbly on the half volley after being played in by Josh Brownhill.
Burnley had a chance to make it 3-0 late in the second half when Vydra raced towards goal but Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola came out and dealt with the danger.
Replays then showed that the goalkeeper had handled the ball outside the area, but VAR looked at the incident and decided not to send him off.
But 2-0 was how it finished, and Scott Parker’s side join Sheffield United and West Brom in the Championship next season.
