Foot Mercato journalist reports this morning that Fulham have reached an agreement with West Ham over the signing of French defender Issa Diop for a deal worth £17m.

The former Toulouse man will put pen to paper on a 5-year deal as he makes the move across London, two weeks after his manager David Moyes gave his blessing for the move to go ahead after initially vetoing it.

The former French youth international was entering the final year of his contract, and has seen his playing time gradually decrease in his four years with the Hammers, down to 13 appearances in the Premier League last season.

Moyes was initially reluctant to let him go in the wake of Nayef Aguerd’s injury, but eventually gave way at the defender’s insistence on the move.

Diop is now set to join the third club of his career, having started out with hometown and formative club Toulouse and spending three seasons in the first team before making the move to England in 2018.
