Fulham make £35m bid for Fluminense midfielder André | OneFootball

According to Ben Jacobs, Fulham have made a £35m offer to Fluminense for midfielder André.

The bid is understood to be worth an initial £30m plus £5m in add-ons, whilst personal terms were already agreed with the player last year, after Fulham CEO Alistair Mackintosh travelled to watch the Copa Liberatores final.

The 22-year-old played a pivotal role in that fixture – and the tournament as a whole – making 13 appearances as he helped his boyhood side claim the trophy for the first time in their history. Following that victory, André would go on to represent the Brazilian side at the FIFA Club World Cup, where they claimed a runners-up medal following a 4-0 loss to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Boasting a well-rounded skillset and an ability to influence the game both in and out-of-possession, the four-time capped Brazilian international is one of the most highly-rated and sought-after talents in the Brasileiro Série A – with soon-to-be Real Madrid star Endrick (€45m market value) the only player in the division attaining a higher market value than André’s (€25m), as per Transfermarkt.

As such, if it were to go through, the move would see Marco Silva’s side seal a valuable deal to beat multiple high-profile clubs to the players’ signature; including Liverpool, who made contact with Fluminense last summer during their hunt for a new midfielder, before The Reds completed the signings of Ryan Gravenberch and Waturu Endō.

Furthermore, The Cottagers will hope to complete the deal before they return from their winter break next Wednesday 24th January, when they’ll host Jürgen Klopp’s men in the second-leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

With the away goals rule no longer in play, Fulham will need a victory after narrowly losing the opening tie 2-1 at Anfield, as they aim to reach their first final since the 2010 Europa League.
