Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan has admitted the club will consider offers for Joao Palhinha in the summer if the proposal ‘makes sense for everyone’.

Palhinha has been a major hit since signing for Fulham from Sporting Lisbon in 2022, with the Portugal international leading the Premier League for tackles (148) last season.

The 28-year-old again tops that metric during the current campaign and came close to leaving west London last summer, as Bayern Munich made a bid to sign the midfielder in the closing stages of the transfer window.

Bayern saw a bid worth in the region of £60m accepted for Palhinha on transfer deadline day, but the deal collapsed as Fulham failed to secure a replacement in time.

Fulham are braced for further interest in the defensive midfielder this summer, with Bayern remaining interested in signing a defensive midfielder and Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United recently linked. Khan has conceded that a sale could happen if the bid makes sense for all parties.

“He’s a huge part of the core fold, and we love having him here and we want him part of the team as long as possible, we were very happy to extend his contract,” Khan told talkSPORT.

“If an offer came along and it made sense for everyone, I think that’s something you have to consider with every player at the right time.

“We want to keep him and we have kept him. He’s been staying with us and there’s a lot of demand. There’s now a huge market for Joao Palhinha. Now, eyes have opened.”
