Premier League side Fulham are negotiating with Manchester United again over a possible deal for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, which could spell trouble for Napoli in their attempts to bring the Scotland international to Serie A.

McTominay is one of two Scotland midfielders the Partenopei have been targeting in recent weeks, the other being Brighton’s Billy Gilmour.

For McTominay, Napoli have been told that the asking price is around €30m, and that Manchester United will not loan him out for the season.

Fulham had also made attempts to sign the United academy product earlier this window, but reportedly had two bids turned down. Now, they are back in talks with the 20-time Premier League winners and could up their offer.

According to Sky Sports correspondent Dharmesh Sheth, Fulham are likely to make an improved offer to Manchester United if their discussions progress smoothly in the coming days.

Antonio Conte has not hidden his feelings when it comes to new Napoli recruits. He hinted that the club could still make up to four new additions during his post-Verona press conference on Sunday, but has previously warned that it is tricky to convince players to come to the Stadio Maradona with no European football.

They have recently lost out on Marco Brescianini, who opted to join Atalanta from Frosinone instead.

Alessandro Buongiorno, Rafa Marin and Leonardo Spinazzola remain the club’s only additions so far this summer.

Fulham have re-opened talks with Manchester United over signing of Scott McTominay. Fulham had 2 bids rejected & & weren’t expected to go back in unless United were willing to negotiate on asking price. Fulham now expected to make improved offer if talks go positively. #FFC #MUFC
