Scott Parker says there is no doubt Fulham can operate in the Premier League after showing their 'quality' against Manchester United.

The Cottagers went down 2-1 to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side due to a superb strike from Paul Pogba.

But Parker saw enough from his side - currently 18th on the table - to feel positive about avoiding relegation.

"We came up short in the end but overall I thought we were superb. Big chances are the fine margins of this league.

"I am disappointed because stand here and I feel we should have got something from the game. We showed our real quality today, which is pleasing.

"In the second half we had some big opportunities. I am disappointed and I suppose it shows how far we have come. It is something to keep working on. We are looking more solid as a team.

"The equaliser came out of nothing and someone like Paul Pogba possesses that sort of quality. The resigning factor for me was the big chances that went for us probably needed to go in.

"I think we have played six of the seven best teams in the league recently and we have gone toe to toe. From now on we need to go on and pick up some points.

"No doubt we can win and operate in this division and we just need to push on and keep improving."
