Al-Hilal signed Neymar to be a game-changing player for their side, but it hasn’t entirely gone to plan yet.
The Brazilian superstar is still waiting for his first goal for the club and will feel extremely frustrated not to have saved the day in the AFC Champions League on Monday.
The four-time winners had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their group stage opener against Uzbekistan club Navbahor despite 77% possession and 20 shots to five.
Neymar almost found the net twice, but his low free-kick didn’t trouble Utkir Yusupov and neither did his weak header.
At times, the new No. 10 conveyed his frustrations by shoving players and dramatically kicking the ball away. His late penalty shouts also went unheard.
None of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Malcom or Ruben Neves could help either. Instead, it was Ali Albulayhi who saved the day in the 100th minute to tie it up.
The draw is still a massive result for Navbahor who earned a key point while Al-Hilal will be left scratching their heads.
