Board member for sport Markus Krösche, head coach Dino Toppmöller and Ellyes Skhiri analyse the 2-1 defeat at Bayern.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “We did well in the first half and had our opportunities on the counter, although we could’ve capitalised on them better. In the second half, we were a bit too passive and not purposeful enough. Overall, it was a decent away performance and a frustrating defeat.”

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “Congratulations to Thomas [Tuchel] and his team for a deserved win. We had problems to begin with, Bayern were very sharp and clean in their ball control. We had to defend deeper because of the quality of the opponents, but then scored a nice goal. It was a great performance by Hugo Ekitiké, who we had to take off later as he’d taken a knock to the thigh. We were in the game for a long time and can take a lot of positives. Of course, it’s always frustrating when you lose by one goal.”

Ellyes Skhiri: “We ran a lot, battled a lot but unfortunately didn’t get more out of it. We have to accept the penalty decision. Looking at the table, we have it all in our own hands. We’re five points ahead of Freiburg – with one more win, we can do it. It’s very important for the club and the fans. I personally feel better now and am not in pain anymore. The last few weeks haven’t been easy.”
