From what I have been told the Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe relationship is completely broken

The Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe relationship is critical to Newcastle United right now.
However, what I’m hearing, from a very good source, is that it is completely broken.
The harmony that has evaporated from the corridors of St James’ Park, is no doubt due to the shifting sands of power, which has flowed through the outstretched hands of the man who – alongside Amanda Staveley – should be seen as the savour of this club.
Eddie Howe, once so critical to everything, as is his desire, is becoming an increasingly marginalised figure. Shockingly so, you might think, given this man has delivered so much for the club in a few short years.
However, there’s a new kid on the block as we all know: Paul Mitchell.
I am told on very good authority that he isn’t exactly Howe’s number one fan. In fact, it’s the complete opposite. Why?
Because Eddie Howe isn’t the kind of figure he – or the owners – want at the top of the club, certainly in the long term.
There remains a great deal of affection for what he has achieved, however, it is becoming as plain as day that if Paul Mitchell is to have his way, the former Bournemouth man’s days are numbered at St James’ Park.
Would this be a bad thing for the club?
Undoubtedly so, given the news would go down badly with the playing squad.
However, it feels like a price Mitchell increasingly likely to be happy to pay, given his relationship with Howe appears about as brittle as a piece of overcooked filo pastry. And from what I’m hearing, he doesn’t mind who knows that fact.
It appears a matter of when, not if, Howe will leave, but only at that point, will we truly know just what this man bought to Newcastle United.
Was he the glue holding it together?
Or on the other hand, is he the man holding the side back?
Crucially, who will replace him?
The managerial pool isn’t exactly full of life right now; in fact, it’s shark-infested waters.
I won’t offer an answer on who might be the man to take this club forward – that will become apparent in time, but my message to all fellow Newcastle United fans out there is this: prepare yourselves.
