The Copa América is upon us and it doesn’t just bring with it some of the game’s most talented players.
It also provides a unique array of kits and we run the rule over the best and worst.
They shouldn’t really be at the Copa América and it is a shame they are – as it provides us with more time to see this jersey, which is as bland as it gets.
The deeper shade of red may be cool but there is little else to get excited about here in what is a rather uninspiring effort from the competition’s holders.
Argentina kits will always be popular among the general public but this one… those thicker, faded light blue stripes really don’t do it for us unfortunately.
Now we’re starting to get going. The darker blue backdrop set against the unlinked vertical white lines was a hit at the World Cup so they’ve kept it for another summer.
After all, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
A controversial one but we’re fans of it. The ’90s inspired theme works well, featuring various horizontal lines to keep it interesting.
Small points are lost though with the design of the numbers and names, which are a little jarring and look slightly out of place.
You can’t go wrong with a Uruguay kit can you? They always keep it simple with their beautiful light blue home jersey and have done so again, incorporating some lovely gold trim.
That is fitting as their golden generation gears up for one last tilt at glory and you can be sure they’ll look good while doing it.
Another country who always provide much more hits than misses when it comes to their kits.
There is a classic feel to this one and it works very well after some slightly more disappointing efforts in recent years.
A brilliant effort. This offering from Marathon is excellent, featuring jagged vertical lines fading from dark blue into yellow at the top.
Top marks.
More magic from Marathon at number four as they extended their skills to cover Bolivia.
The diamond-like design set to different shades of green with a yellow trim is a big winner with us.
Sometimes it really is the uncomplicated designs which work best.
Venezuela differ from their South American counterparts due to the standout nature of their wine red kit and it stands out for all the right reasons.
There are few kits more synonymous with a country than this one and it is another cracker.
You know what you are getting with Peru: a white jersey with that majestic red diagonal stripe but it never fails to impress.
We have our winner! You just don’t see enough striped jerseys anymore which employ plenty of thin lines as opposed to fewer, thicker ones.
Paraguay have bucked the trend with this one and we are very thankful for it. They probably won’t win the tournament but they’ve won our hearts – and that’s what counts.
