Manchester City are reportedly among a select group of clubs open to the idea of spending in excess of €80 million on one of Juventus’ star forwards.
The Premier League champions were more active than they have ever been in a January transfer window during the recent market, sanctioning a spend across their first-team squad north of €200 million.
Among the recruits brought in were two versatile central defenders in Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis from RC Lens and Palmeiras respectively, as well as Nico Gonzalez in the defensive midfield role at a cost of €60 million from FC Porto.
Arguably the most exciting of the new names came through Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Egypt international viewed as a direct replacement for Julian Alvarez – who joined Atletico Madrid last summer.
However, the latest reports emerging from Italy would suggest that Manchester City are not finished in their strengthening of the forward line as they look towards Serie A and one of the league’s most exciting attacking talents.
According to the information of Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated and relayed by Forza Juventus on X, super-agent Jorge Mendes has met with the parents of Turkish forward Kenan Yıldız as Premier League teams look to pounce on the player in the summer.
It is sensationally claimed that Premier League duo Manchester City and Chelsea are joined by French giants Paris Saint-Germain in being willing to pay up to between €80 million and €90 million for the teenager.
Across Yildiz’s time with Bayern Munich’s youth ranks, the development teams of Juventus, and the Old Lady’s senior squads, the Turkish starlet has amassed a total of 139 appearances scoring 33 goals in the process alongside 22 assists.
Manchester City could yet look elsewhere within the Juventus squad for recruitment after the Etihad Stadium squad were heavily tied to interest from versatile full-back Andrea Cambiaso during the January window.
Ultimately, no deal would come to fruition despite Manchester City sanctioning a temporary exit for Kyle Walker to AC Milan on loan until the end of the season with the San Siro club holding an option to buy the player.
