The Blues signed Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega Moreno, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez and Manuel Akanji last summer, with all of Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Oleksandr Zinchenko leaving the club.

Less than 12 months from arguably one of the most successful transfer windows for the seven-time Premier League champions, Manchester City are eyeing at least a few additions to their midfield.

Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham is a long-standing target for the Blues but it appears the England international is on the cusp of a sensational move to Real Madrid.

There remain question marks over the long-term futures of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan at the Etihad Stadium, with both attracting plenty of interest from clubs across Europe.

According to a report from Le Parisien, as relayed by Get Football News France, Manchester City have expressed an interest in signing Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italy international, whose current deal at the Parc des Princes runs till 2026, has voiced his frustrations over the criticism he can come under of late and is open to leaving PSG in the summer.

Moreover, the Ligue 1 giants would be open to sanctioning a sale for the 30-year-old, who is reportedly yet to make a final decision on his future in Paris.
