Como held Wolfsburg to a stalemate under coach Cesc Fabregas, while Torino beat Metz 3-0 and Cagliari snatched a last-gasp Modena draw.

The pre-season friendly preparations continued today, with just two weeks remaining before the 2024-25 Serie A campaign kicks off.

The most-transformed side is probably Como, who earned promotion finishing second in Serie B last term.

Fabregas set his men out in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Germans Wolfsburg with Patrick Cutrone upfront, Pepe Reina in goal and Luca Mazzitelli in midfield.

It ended in a 0-0 draw and Emil Audero made his debut in the final 15 minutes, but fans will have to wait for the first Raphael Varane appearance.

Como open their season officially next Sunday in the Coppa Italia first round against Sampdoria.

Win for Torino, Como and Cagliari stalemates

Torino continued their French adventure, as after a 0-0 draw with Olympique Lyonnais, they beat Metz 3-0 this evening.

Duvan Zapata and Valentin Lazaro scored in the first half, before Samuele Ricci completed the rout.

Cagliari confirmed their tendency to score last-minute goals even in friendlies, as they scraped a 2-2 draw with Serie B side Modena.

The minnows had taken a 2-1 lead after the Roberto Piccoli equaliser, but veteran Leonardo Pavoletti popped up with a trademark stoppage-time header.
