Loss in high-scoring encounter

The players who did not appear in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup quarter-final yesterday - or made only brief appearances - were today in action in a friendly match against #LigaZwa side GAK. It was the visitors from Graz who ended up winning at the Taxham training centre.

Match summary

The visitors made the better start with Rusek getting the flurry of goals started (22') before Koller pounced practically on the half-hour mark (31'). Karim Konate came onto the field after the break and left his mark very much on the game. The joy at the Ivorian pulling a goal back (54') was short-lived, however, as Rusek promptly restored the two-goal lead (57').

Some other of our youngsters were able to prove what they were capable of as the match approached its end. Midfielder Alparslan 'Alpi' Baran crowned his performance with a goal (80'). Schiestl then added a fourth for the visitors in red (82'), before Konate hit the final goal of the game from the penalty spot (88' pen).
