The 2020/21 Premier League season may be continuing behind closed doors but we’ve still got a lot to look forward to.

Here is what we have coming our way this weekend.

Manchester City v Leicester City

Leicester City have shrugged off the poor end to 2019/20 to pick up maximum points in their opening two fixtures.

Manchester City kicked off the new campaign on Monday with an impressive 3-1 win away to Wolves serving Liverpool a reminder that they won’t walk their way to the title.

Pep Guardiola’s side have a title to reclaim and you have to feel concerned for who they might leave in their wake this season.

Brendan Rodgers’ men won’t be easy to overcome but another win for City will mean they have overcome two of the top seven from last season already.

📊 Fun fact: Jamie Vardy has scored six goals in previous appearances against Manchester City, with the striker only scoring more against Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League.

Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United

If only Manchester United had invested in a new centre-half instead of spending all summer unsuccessfully courting Jadon Sancho, eh?

Crystal Palace shocked an abysmal United last Saturday but in defence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, this was their first game after a pre-season containing just one friendly and last season’s Europa League exit was just over a month ago.

This game might have come too soon for them to be back in their stride again and with Brighton purring after a 3-0 win over Newcastle, this could prove to be a tricky afternoon for Solskjaer.

📊 Fun fact: Manchester United have only ever lost to Brighton three times in their history but two of those defeats have come since the Seagulls returned to the top-flight in 2017/18.

West Ham v Wolves

West Ham are descending into a mess again, aren’t they?

They may have lost 2-1 to Arsenal last time out but the Hammers put in a resolute performance. Hope had started to build amongst supporters only for their joint-chairman David Sullivan to announce that he is “depressed” over the lack of signings made this summer.

Nothing like those words to inspire the team to a comfortable defeat to Wolves.

📊 Fun fact: Wolves have won all four meetings with the Hammers since their return to the Premier League without conceding a goal.

Too close to call 🤔

Crystal Palace v Everton

Who would’ve thought that this fixture would be the first title decider of the season?

OK, that’s taking it too far but both these sides have 100% records going into the weekend and the supporters are starting to drown in optimism.

Something will have to give on Saturday though. Everton’s James Rodríguez has settled into life in the Premier League like a fish to water while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has turned into a ruthless number nine under Carlo Ancelotti.

Wilfried Zaha has started the new season in form for Palace with three goals in two games and with Ebere Eze and Michy Batshuayi still to bed in, this could be an exciting season for Palace.

We can’t call who is going to slip up first.

This might be a little brave considering Werner’s start to his Premier League career but trust us, the German will come good at some point.

West Brom have conceded eight goals in their first 180 minutes which will have the 24-year-old licking his lips. Don’t be surprised if he picks up a brace at the Hawthorns.
