Game of the Weekend

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

If you’re not excited about Real Madrid, why not?

Takefusa Kubo looks like a future star, while Eden Hazard and Luka Jović are two of the most exciting signings of the whole summer.

On Saturday night (local time, midnight CET), they face Bayern Munich.

The German champions are entering a transition period following the exits of Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben and Mats Hummels. This one should be as interesting as pre-season games get.

Caught cold?

Liverpool v Borussia Dortmund

To say Champions League winners Liverpool aren’t at full strength in the US would be an understatement. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Naby Keïta are not involved on the tour, thanks to their involvement in AFCON this summer.

Roberto Firmino, Alisson and Fabinho, meanwhile, were winning the Copa América with Brazil.

All that leaves Jürgen Klopp’s squad looking a little bit thin as they prepare to face an almost full-strength Borussia Dortmund.

With new signings Julian Brandt, Thorgan Hazard, Mats Hummels and Nico Schulz in tow, this is a chance for the Bundesliga giants to make a big impression.

Youngster to watch

Bukayo Saka

The 17-year-old could burst onto the scene this year.

He already looks more than ready for some first team action and, if he’s given it, expect him to get you on the edge of your seat.

Skilful, direct, quick and clinical, Saka scored against Colorado Rapids this week. He might just be the season’s big breakthrough player.

Keep an eye on

Aaron Ramsey v Tanguy Ndombélé

Aaron Ramsey has just landed in Turin and he’s already taking on Tottenham again.

He’ll be up against a new face, though, in Tanguy Ndombélé. While Ramsey joined Juve from Arsenal for nothing, Spurs have broken their transfer record on their new midfielder.

They could be the signings of the summer. But who will come out on top on Sunday?
