Barcelona faced off against Deportivo Alaves at the Mendizorrotza Stadium earlier today as they hoped to earn all three points on the road. The Catalan outfit dominated the game in the first half but struggled to make the decisive breakthrough as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Xavi’s men pushed on in search of the winning goal in the second half and finally managed to find it in the 87th minute courtesy of Frenkie de Jong’s effort from close range. The contest ended with Barca securing a narrow 1-0 victory away from home.

The Spaniard was solid when defending at the back and made one good run down the left flank.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 8/10

De Jong made a few dangerous runs with the ball and was there in the right place to score the only goal of this clash.
