Chelsea are looking to try and make a few smart signings this summer as they look to rebuild the squad and set themselves up for now, and the future.

Having already signed two top young talents in the shape of Carney Chukwuemeka and goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, The Blues have been making attempts to sign a string of other top young teenage talents this window.

They’re clearly setting up and looking at the future, which is very wise and smart. One player they are trying to add to the ranks also is Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Yesterday it looked liked Chelsea might be getting much closer to securing the deal. However, interest from French side Nice could obstruct Chelsea in these attempts.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nice are interested in Cesare Casadei. Chelsea are still in talks with Inter but Nice are also in the race – buy back option is part of the conversations. Chelsea have already seen two offers rejected.
