St. Pauli forward Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has been linked with a number of Bundesliga clubs in recent weeks but it now looks like Freiburg will be his destination, according to Sky Germany.
The 26-year-old is expected to make the switch and join Freiburg in the Bundesliga as they get ready for a season that includes European football.
Kyereh’s contract runs out next year meaning the Hamburg-based club want to cash in now rather than waiting until next summer when the Ghanaian international can leave on a free.
It’s reported that St. Pauli want around €4.5m for the attacking midfielder. However, it’s likely that he may go for a sum slightly less than St. Pauli would expect.
Freiburg are confident that they can secure Kyereh and make it official as soon as next week.
Other clubs which were interested in the attacking player included Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, and Mainz.
In 29 competitive matches last season, Kyereh scored 12 times and assisted on 10 occasions. He was St. Pauli’s second top goalscorer.
