Davide Frattesi was given just his third league start for Inter in their clash with Lecce and he didn’t disappoint, playing a leading role in the 4-0 victory.

The 24-year-old Italian midfielder was one of the high-profile transfers of the Serie A summer market last year, but Simone Inzaghi has given him time to settle at the Nerazzurri following the move, limiting him to just 532 minutes of league action over the last 20 matches.

Inzaghi decided to hand Frattesi his third Serie A start in their Sunday evening trip to Lecce, and he shined, scoring once and providing an assist as the league leaders cruised to their 21st league win of the season.

Page six of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Frattesi instantly made a strong impression when given the chance and suggested that he’ll be increasingly given a leading role in the Inter squad, starting more regularly in the tail-end of the season as the team compete on multiple fronts.

The Nerazzurri are on track to secure their second Scudetto star and also have unfinished business in the Champions League, making every member of Inzaghi’s squad key.
