Napoli have identified Davide Frattesi as one of their top summer targets and have reportedly already taken the first steps to sign the Inter midfielder, aiming to gain an edge over the competition.
The Italy international grabbed the spotlight mid-week by scoring Inter’s winner at Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, further showcasing his ability to make an impact when coming off the bench.
However, the 25-year-old was the subject of transfer speculation last January, with reports suggesting he was looking for a move away from San Siro, with Roma and Napoli among the clubs interested.

While Inter were reluctant to sell one of their most valuable midfield options in the middle of a busy season, discussions about his departure could resume next summer, as Frattesi may still be keen to find a club where he can be one of the main protagonists.
According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Napoli have not abandoned their interest in the former Sassuolo man and are reportedly ready to make him one of their biggest investments of the summer transfer window.
The Partenopei have placed Frattesi at the top of their wishlist and have already been informed about the cost of a potential deal, with Inter asking for a fee in the region of €35m-40m.

Although negotiations are unlikely to advance significantly until the next few months, as Inter are currently in a crucial and delicate phase of the season, Moretto explained that Napoli are already taking initial steps to get ahead of other interested clubs, with Roma also likely to consider a move.
