Europa League

Borré downs ten-man West Ham

Scorers: Borré 26′.

West Ham had Aaron Cresswell sent off in the first 20 minutes as their Europa League journey ended at the final hurdle in Frankfurt.

The left-back received his marching orders after hauling down Jens Petter Hauge as he was running through on goal.

Rafael Santos Borré then turned home Daichi Kamada’s cut-back to cap off the worst possible start for David Moyes’ side.

The Hammers almost found a way back into the game just before half-time when Jarrod Bowen’s free-kick was flicked on to the far post but Kurt Zouma couldn’t sort his feet out in time and saw his nudge at goal cleared off the line.

But it proved not to be West Ham’s night with Moyes even seeing red himself 12 minutes from time for an altercation on the sideline.

Borré’s goal turned out ton be the winner as Frankfurt reach their first European final in 42 years.

Rangers into final after shock win over Leipzig

Scorers: Tavernier 18′, Kamara 24′, Lundstram 81′; Nkunku 70′.

John Lundstram’s 80th-minute winner means Rangers will meet Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville for the Europa League trophy.

The hosts stormed into the lead in the 18th minute when James Tavernier arrived on to Ryan Kent’s low cross to tap home at the back post.

Glen Kamara then drilled a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to send Ibrox into hysterics and fire Rangers ahead on the night.

Allan McGregor produced a stunning save to deny Konrad Laimer but couldn’t do anything to keep out Christopher Nkunku moments later as the Frenchman poked home Angelino’s cross on the volley to draw the sides level.

However, Lundstram proved to be the hero for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side when he forced the ball home from six yards out after Péter Gulácsi had parried another Kent cross back into the danger zone.

Rangers will contest the final of this competition for the first time since 2008.

Europa Conference League

Abraham heads Roma to glory

Scorers: Abraham 11′.

José Mourinho will contest a European final again after his Roma side saw off Leicester City at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Foxes believed they had a case for a penalty in the opening minutes when Chris Smalling appeared to wrestle Wesley Fofana to the ground inside the area but the referee waved play on.

But the hosts then found themselves ahead in the 11th minute through Tammy Abraham who powered a header past Kasper Schmeichel from a corner.

Brendan Rodgers’ side struggled to create a clear opening to get back into the game with Kelechi Iheanacho’s long-range swerving effort briefly unsettling Rui Patricio in the final ten minutes their only real attempt at goal.

Stalemate sees Feyenoord hold out

Feyenoord will be the other team participating in the first final of this inaugural competition.

Marseille were dealt a blow halfway through the first half when Dmitri Payet had to leave the pitch through injury to be replaced by Arkadiusz Milik.

An edgy game transpired with little in the way of clearcut chances but it’s the Eredivisie side who are the big name on the European stage once again.
