Frank Leboeuf apologised to Marc Cucurella after Chelsea’s win against Leicester in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues ground out a hard fought 1-0 win against the Foxes, with Cucurella scoring the only game of the game with a brilliant strike on the hour mark.
The crucial three points saw Chelsea move back into the top four and two points ahead of Manchester City and Newcastle in the race for Champions League football.
The game was more comfortable than the scoreline suggested, with Leicester offering very little going forward and Chelsea could have won by a wider margin had Cole Palmer not missed a first half penalty.
Cucurella has really transformed his Chelsea career having been booed in his first season, and he’s very much a key player and firm fan favourite.
The Spain international’s goal was his fourth of the season and he’s now scored in back to back league matches, and Enzo Maresca believes the left back has something that’s difficult to find.

Maresca wasn’t the only person to praise Cucurella for his performance, with former Blue Leboeuf offering an apology to the 26-year-old before praising him.
“I want to call somebody because I was very harsh, no maybe hard on him, like two years ago, but Cucurella, Cucu the saviour! I call him Cucu the saviour,” he told ESPN.
“The guy scores four goals or three goals since January, he made two assists, he became my idol. I mean, that guy is amazing, defensively, offensively. Cucu the saviour, I love you!”

Cucurella is absolutely in the running to be Chelsea’s player of the year and he’s developed a lot under the guidance of Maresca, especially in the attacking third of the pitch.
Next up for Cucurella and his team-mates is the second leg of the last 16 Conference League tie against Copenhagen on Thursday, before a huge game against Arsenal on Sunday.
