Frank Lampard hopes Alex Iwobi's injury 'not too serious'

Frank Lampard has provided an injury update on Alex Iwobi on Friday following their 3-1 loss in the FA Cup.

The midfielder seriously injured his ankle following a tackle by Manchester United’s Tyrell Malacia and was stretchered off.

“We hope it’s not too serious,” said Lampard after the match. “It looks like an ankle ligament injury. He will have a scan tomorrow to confirm.”

The manager then confirmed the 26-year-old is currently on crutches but not going to the hospital.

Everton will hope Iwobi can make a speedy recovery as they look to avoid relegation in the Premier League.

His current season stats stand at 18 appearances, one goal and five assists.
