Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has given some "positive" injury news on goalkeeper Mark Flekken, who went off with an injury in the Bees' 0-0 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

Flekken has started every Premier League game so far this season and made the most saves in the division, and Frank gave some information on his availability ahead of the clash with Arsenal on New Year's Day.

As well as Flekken, the Brentford head coach gave some mixed updates on the likes of Ben Mee, Sepp van den Berg, Mathias Jensen and Christian Nørgaard.

Frank stated: "Three players went off [against Brighton]: Nørgaard is no problem and can play against Arsenal; Ben Mee has a minor muscle injury and will be out for a couple of weeks; Mark Flekken is more positive, still too early to say he will play against Arsenal, but he can maybe, hopefully, be available.

"But I am in no doubt that [Hákon Valdimarsson] will be more than ready for his first Premier League start, if needed. He did very well against Brighton and I was very pleased with his performance.

"The news on Sepp van den Berg and Mathias Jensen is more positive and they will be available and in the squad. They have been out for quite a while so we just need to take the decision as to whether they will start."

Ethan Pinnock (hamstring), Kristoffer Ajer (ankle), Igor Thiago (joint infection), Gustavo Nunes (back), Rico Henry (knee), Aaron Hickey (hamstring) and Josh Dasilva (knee) all still remain sidelined.
