François Letexier will take charge of Manchester City’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

The current Champions League holders face 14-time winners of the competition Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of this season’s tournament, as Manchester City and Real Madrid do battle for the third consecutive European campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side emphatically dispatched the La Liga leaders in the semi-finals last season, recording an incredible 5-1 aggregate win over Real Madrid as part of a maiden Champions League triumph.

Manchester City drew 1-1 in the first-leg at the Santiago Bernabéu in that last-four tie, and travel to the Spanish capital for the first-leg again this season, with the second-leg taking place at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday evening.

The Cityzens are currently unbeaten in their past 25 matches in all competitions, and haven’t suffered defeat in Europe since a loss to Real Madrid in May 2022.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg between Real Madrid and Manchester City, UEFA have announced the Match Officials for the clash.

Match Referee

François Letexier has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

The 34-year-old has officiated 24 matches across all competitions so far this season, showing 104 yellow cards and four red cards.

The Frenchman last took charge of Manchester City in August, when the referee oversaw the UEFA Super Cup Final between Pep Guardiola’s side and Sevilla in Athens.

Assistant Referees

Letexier will be accompanied at the Santiago Bernabéu by Assistant Referees Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni.

Video Assistant Referees

Overviewing proceedings will be Video Assistant Referee Jérôme Brisard and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Willy Delajod.

Fourth Official

Pierre Gaillouste has been named as the Fourth Official.

The referee will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola.
