Franck Kessié gives the most awesome reason for keeping his kit number

Not many footballers in the world would be happy with the number 79.

Franck Kessié, however, is not your average footballer.

After a pair of pre-season matches in the number 19 shirt in summer 2017, Leonardo Bonucci arrived and took the number away from Kessié.

Though he was offered the number back after Bonucci’s Juventus return, the Ivorian international provided an extremely classy answer as to why he did not accept.

“The new management asked me if I want number 19.

“I refused it because I feel good with the 79 and I did not want the fans who already bought my shirt to spend money again.”
