Franck Haise wants to leave RC Lens

Franck Haise’s future at RC Lens has been uncertain for some time. Throughout the season, there have been reports suggesting that he would like to take the next step in his career. At the end of the season, Haise said that he would take some time to consider his future with Les Sang et Or. L’Équipe understands that, following this reflection, Haise has chosen to leave Lens.

Haise said he would “see what is happening at the club” at the end of the campaign. Behind the scenes, there have been changes and they aren’t necessarily to his liking. Arandu Pouille, Lens’ CEO, who has been at the club since 2017, has reportedly announced his upcoming departure. Pouille is seen as one of the pillars of Lens’ recent success and his departure is seen as an “explosion” within the club.

Pouille isn’t the only departure. Frédéric Hébert, as well as his assistant Romain Peyrusqué, were relieved of their duties earlier this week. Behind the scenes, things aren’t going as Haise would have wished and he has therefore taken the decision to leave, despite possessing a contract that runs until 2027. Whilst Haise should attract plenty of interest, there is also the possibility that he will take a sabbatical year.
