Tanguy Ndombélé (28) showed flickers of revival earlier this season following his move to OGC Nice on a free transfer, however, the Frenchman has since been plagued by the injury issues that have blighted his professional career.

Ndombélé, as revealed by Franck Haise several weeks ago, is suffering with a pubalgia issue, which has been recurring for a number of weeks. The midfielder first evoked the ongoing issue right at the start of 2025. The Frenchman even saw a surgeon a few weeks back in order to evoke the possibility of surgery. It was decided at the time that surgery was not necessary and this assessment still rings true.

However, he has now not been included in the last three matchday squads in Ligue 1, whilst his last start in the league came on 17th January. There is no sign of an imminent return for the former Tottenham Hotspur man. “He is in training but he is the only one doing so lightly. He is still far from the level that he was at the start of the season but it is a good thing that he is on the field. He worked with the physios today (Friday). It has been for many months that he has trained and worked less. Rhythm doesn’t come just like that,” said Haise in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
